Help
wisst is an app for short articles, one idea each, and the discussions readers open by writing an insight. Here is how to deal with something that shouldn’t be there, and how to reach us.
Report something
- An article: open it, tap the ••• button at the top, then Report this article.
- An insight or a reply: touch and hold it, then Report.
- A person: open their page from the name on an article, tap •••, then Report this person.
- A report never hides anything by itself. Someone on the wisst team reads it and decides, against wisst’s content rules, usually within 24 hours.
Block someone
- In the same menus, choose Block. You stop seeing their articles, insights and replies, and they stop seeing yours.
- Settings → Blocked people lists everyone you blocked, and unblocks them.
If something of yours was removed
Activity tells you what was removed and which rule it broke. Within 30 days you can ask for another look once, from that notice, and someone on the team looks at it again.
Your data and your account
- Settings → Your account → Download your data gives you a copy of your account data in one file. A draft that has not reached the server remains on your phone.
- Settings → Your account → Delete your account deletes it at once, with your articles, insights, replies and photos. Insights other readers wrote on your articles stay in their own journals.
- The privacy policy at wisst.app/privacy says what wisst keeps and why.
Delete your account
You can delete your wisst account and what is in it, with or without the app.
- In the app: Settings → Your account → Delete your account. It is deleted at once.
- Without the app: write to privacy@wisst.app from the email address you sign in with and ask for your account to be deleted. If you sign in with Apple or Google, say which, and the name on your account. Someone on the team checks that the account is yours, and may ask you to confirm from that address. It is deleted within 30 days, and you get a reply when it is done.
What goes: your account, your name and photo, your articles and their photos, your insights and replies, the drafts saved to your account, your reading history, who you follow and block, your settings, and reports about you or what you wrote.
What stays: insights other readers wrote on your articles stay in their journals. Reports you filed stay, without your name. A draft kept only on your phone stays there until you delete the app. Copies in the hosting provider’s backups disappear as those backups expire.
Delete some of what you wrote
You can delete single things and keep your account.
- An insight or a reply: touch and hold it, then Delete. It is gone at once, from the discussion and your journal.
- An article: Your page → My articles, open it, tap •••, then Delete. Readers stop seeing it at once; you can restore it for 30 days, then it is deleted for good with its photos.
- A draft: Your page → My articles, touch and hold the draft, then Delete draft.
- Your photo: Settings → Your name and photo → Remove photo.
- Anything else, such as your reading history: write to privacy@wisst.app from the email address you sign in with, and say what to delete. It is deleted within 30 days.
Write to us
Anything else, or anything urgent, such as a threat or someone’s private details: support@wisst.app. Someone on the team answers.
